Meet Dr. Curtis Nelson

Dr. Curtis Nelson

Carrying On a Family Legacy

Dr. Nelson’s background with chiropractic started with his mother, who was one of a dozen female chiropractors who graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1947. Dr. Jeannette Nelson practiced for more than 35 years and created a legacy in her family. Dr. Nelson’s aunt, uncle, cousin and niece are also chiropractors, making it a true family tradition.

His mother’s interest in the profession was sparked when she took her first child, Dr. Nelson’s older brother, to the chiropractor. Her baby boy had untreatable seizures, and the medical doctors said he would die. Instead, Dr. Nelson’s mom took her son to the chiropractor, who helped get rid of the seizures. That supposedly terminal baby lived another 70 years!

I want to help people without the drugs and surgery that are so prevalent all over the world.”

A Comprehensive Education That Continues to This Day

Dr. Nelson attended the same prestigious institution his mother attended, graduating in 1983 with a Doctor of Chiropractic. His advanced training includes topics such as

  • Orthopedics
  • Whiplash and spinal trauma
  • Lower back injuries
  • Pediatrics
  • Rehabilitation

Additionally, he is Advanced Proficiency Rated in Activator Methods® and is an instructor in this gentle, low force technique, and has taught chiropractors in the U.S. and Canada. Dr. Nelson is active in the Washington State Chiropractic Association.

Closer to home, he has been on the Ambassador’s Committee for the Redmond Chamber of Commerce and has presented safety seminars, ergonomic workshops, participated in local health fairs, and led study groups for other chiropractors.
